Sometimes the choice to wait is an effective activity. The choice to do nothing is a choice contributing to one's survival at times. A successfull choice.

I agree & thanks for posting this. I have told various clients this when they have said (with whatever the situation was that involved fear or violence), "Why didn't I react?" - It's hard to hear that sometimes NOT doing anything can be the right choice. I was stuck in thsi situation a few weeks ago when I watched a woman get beat-up. I know restraints?, should I jump in?... The cops told me I did the right thing: ran like hell & called the Police. Sometimes NOT doing anything (even when you're the one being victimized) is what has kept us alive & out here to heal! I have always said, the only person who knows about a situation is the person who was in the situation. Yes, sometimes NOT reacting is the best way to get your-damn-self out! And there's no shame in that, in my books!
